As if the Holiday’s weren’t enough to make you indulge on all of your favorite fixings, make room for one more reason to get your eat on – Black Restaurant Week! Haven’t heard of this monumental week yet? No worries, I’ve got you covered with all of the details and how you can participate.

Founded in 2016 by three entrepreneurs, Black Restaurant Week seeks to highlight African, Caribbean and African-American food businesses. Whether you’re a caterer, food truck, diner, drive in or dive you can make the cut! Simply head to www.blackrestaurantweek.com to see how you can be included in your states week.
As a consumer, there are three ways to get involved – EAT, PLAY & WIN. Each state has a directory listing which restaurants are participating in Black Restaurant Week and offering specials. Head to Florida’s list of restaurants, download the bingo card to play, then upload your receipts to www.myblackreceipts.com for each business you patronize. As if you needed an incentive to participate, every completed Bingo Card has the chance to win gift cards and other culinary treats. This years sponsors include Pepsi and Bacardi.

As a Florida resident of 20+ years I’ve been to my fair share of restaurants. Here’s a list of black owned food establishments I recommend you try during Florida’s Black Restaurant Week.
